Teacher Gifts You’ll (and They’ll) Love

With the school holidays on the horizon, you may have turned your attention to planning a family getaway or even booking a load of activities on home soil. So far, so organised.
While you may be prepared for the six-week hols and the start of a new school year, have you contemplated what you might need to sort out for the last few days of the current term? Maybe there’s a non-uniform day, an end-of-year trip, or even a school disco. Plus, don’t forget a gift or two for their teacher(s), who will no doubt be just as ready for the holidays as you are.
Let us tick one thing off your to-do list by bringing you some inspiration on the present-buying front. We’ve put together some suggestions of gifts they’ll love...
Make a Photo Book
Here’s a gift idea for teachers that needn’t cost a lot (or anything), if you have a few photos and an old scrapbook you haven’t yet used.
Making a DIY photo or memory book – packed with anything from hand-drawn pictures to photos and other keepsakes – is also a great activity to share with your son or daughter.
Encourage them to get creative by drawing and colouring borders around photographs you can glue onto the pages, or you could help them pen a poem that can take centre stage in the book.
A homemade gift is bound to put a smile on their teacher’s face – and it’ll prove a little easier on your bank balance too.

Bake
Does their teacher have a favourite sweet treat? If so, why not head to the kitchen and get baking? Add biscuits, mini cupcakes or scones to a large glass jar or cake tin, ready to gift to their teacher on the last day of school. These funfetti cupcakes are a simple but great way to get your younger ones involved in creating colourful cupcakes for all the class - visit this website HERE for the recipe and tips on how to get the little ones involved!

Make a Paper Bouquet
Now this is a gift that could be a bit fiddly to put together (and they’ll probably need a lot of help making it), but it’ll last much longer than a real bouquet.
Paper flowers can be grouped and made into stunning bouquet-like arrangements, or stuck onto the front of a homemade card. Either way, you’ll have fun making them and Miss, Mrs or Mr will have fun receiving them. Find an easy tutorial over here.
Pick a Plant
Do they want to get them something, like a paper bouquet, that they can keep on their desk? If so, how about a plant? With a bit of TLC, it’ll last longer than a fresh bouquet – and it may work out cheaper, depending on what you opt for.
Have a look around your local garden centre and ask for advice on what’s seasonal – and what needs minimal maintenance. Succulents are a winner here and with so many varieties to choose from you can choose a different one for each teacher!

Opt for a Bespoke Teacher Gift
If they want to go the extra mile for their teacher, your little one might want to choose them a personalised trinket. Thankfully, we have plenty worth considering on the Love Lumi site, like this Star Teacher Token and Card (a gift and a card in one – and for under £5!), this rainbow print tote bag for teachers, or this fun, Top Teacher mug.
Get organised ahead of the last day of term and you’ll be glad you did – don’t forget to check out the rest of our teacher gifts.
Until next time…
